Attractions Las Vegas

When you are looking for attractions, you have to examine the root word: attract. What attracts you to Las Vegas ? For most it's the gambling, strip clubs, or other debauchery ("What happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas!"). For others it's golf, seeing a show, or just sipping cocktails by the pool. Attractions Las Vegas is a term that is different from person to person, but everyone has a reason to be here.

As someone who has lived in Vegas for a number of years, some of the things that are most attractive to me are the fine dining and the great golf. However, there are many other attractions, some which require reservations, and some not, which are fun.

I love what I call the "Very Vegas" attractions. This includes things like the Liberace Museum , located at 1775 East Tropicana , phone number (702) 798-5595. Check out the costumes, the pianos, the camp and the Las Vegas kitsch that was Liberace. Hours are 10-5 daily, noon-5 on the weekends. Tickets are cheaper for seniors and students. Along those same lines, the Vegas Museum in the Tropicana Hotel chronicles the history of the town that grew out of the desert. You don't need reservations for this one, just walk on in.

Attractions LV means different things, but I also like the landmarks that remain, though there aren't many left. Head down to Freemont Street to find the Neon cowboy, then over to the Golden Nugget Casino to see the original nugget, or to the south side of town on Las Vegas Boulevard, headed out of Las Vegas, Nevada (or in, depending which way you are going) with the Las Vegas sign. Take a picture--you'll remember it longer.
