Boxing Las Vegas

The sweet science, the square ring, pugilistic power: whatever you call it, boxing is a major part of Las Vegas and has been for years. It is the top city--not only in Nevada , but in the world--for boxing of every level. Boxing Las Vegas style is glitz and glamour, and not just the Mike Tysons of the world fight in Las Vegas .

Many venues hold boxing cards, but here are some of the best:

  1. Mandalay Bay . Great cards and venues, a little pricey. Best cards. It was the Boxing LV home to the Golden Boy, Oscar De La Hoya.
  2. MGM Grand Garden . This used to be Mike Tyson's home arena. I saw the infamous "Bite fight" there against Evander Holyfield. Great atmosphere, but cheap seats are far away.
  3. Hard Rock Hotel. I love this venue. The Joint is an intimate fight venue without a bad seat, really.
  4. The Orleans . Friday Night Fights has decent ticket reservation prices, and though you may not know the fighters, if you want Boxing LV entertainment, you could do much worse.

How about getting tickets? The first couple on the above list are very pricey, but if its just boxing you want and don't need the big names, plenty of places hold cards. I've found www.lvboxing.com is a very helpful site, as is www.boxinginlasvegas.com . They have upcoming boxing cards and information on tickets. For cheap tickets, stay at the hotel and get the packages. LV is a great place to watch fights, and on any weekend in Clark County , you can find plenty of cards to keep you busy. Sometimes the cheap tickets and boxing venues in Las Vegas are the best fights.
