Gold Coast Hotel

"The Place Las Vegans Call Home" is how the Gold Coast Hotel advertises, and it is a true local's casino, from the Club Coast points club, to the daily bingo games (not many vacationers are headed to Las Vegas to play bingo) and the full bowling alley. OK, so this isn't the glitz and glamour of some of the other hotels on the strip, but the homier feel is refreshing. It may not be as luxurious as other hotels, but if your needs aren't great, accommodations are as good here as other hotel casinos in LV.

A couple of drawbacks to a local's hotel like the Gold Coast for those from out of town:

  1. Usually the hotel isn't right in the heart of the action on the strip or downtown. This is true for the Gold Coast Hotel Las Vegas. It's a mile west of the strip, but does have a shuttle that goes to its sister hotels, one of which is on the Las Vegas Strip.
  2. Most vacationers don't stay long enough to take advantage of the perks of the Points clubs. The Gold Coast Casino Las Vegas is part of the Club Coast points club, where the more you play, the more points you get, and the more perks you get. If you aren't there for long, you can't rack them up. For more info on the club, click on www.clubcoast.com .

That being said, the Gold Coast has some of the most reasonable rates in Clark County, Nevada --$50 or less during the week, and around $110 for the weekends. And hey, if you get sick of the gambling, you can always bowl a few frames!
