Las Vegas Blue Man Group

Most people know the Blue Man Group from their commercials for the Intel Pentium products, but now more and more people have seen their touring show, and have probably heard their music. Blue Man Group is actually a band, which has gotten famous for their percussion, which turns into an audio and visual delight during their show. With Blue Man Groups all over the country, the Las Vegas Blue Man Group performs in Clark County at the Luxor to rave reviews.

The group started in New York in 1987 as an artsy, downtown act where they perfected the costume and persona--the black jumpsuit, the blue grease paint, and no-ears look along with the wide eyes and the mute wonder expressions. The Blue Man Group started a Broadway show in 1991, won an Obie (Off-Broadway Tony) and started to tour. They recorded an album, and continued to work on their stage show, until finally setting up shop in Las Vegas , one of their four permanent venues, including Las Vegas with lots of Blue Men. The Blue Man Group's music has been used in tons of commercials as well as movies, most recently the animated feature "Robots".

The great thing about the Blue Man Group show in Las Vegas is its unpredictability. It's a truly bizarre experience with paint flying, lots of natural, and unnatural, things used as art supplies, a loud and amazing night. How about a sculpture of marshmallow? And who can continue their Las Vegas vacation without paint on their shirt?

How about the ticket price? Not bad for a show of this quality on the strip. Prices range from $70-$100, depending on how close you want to sit, and are willing to get splashed. If you want cheap tickets to the Blue Man Group, get a bunch of your friends together--they have discounts for blocks of 20 or more seats. Go to www.luxor.com to find out about show times and reservation prices. If you are only going to one show in LV , this wouldn't be a bad choice.
