Walking the Las Vegas strip is all well and good, but how are you going to really get a sense of the largesse of Las Vegas without escaping the bounds of gravity? How about Las Vegas helicopter tours--being able to see the city from the sky in all its neon glory?
The Vegas Neon Nights Tour is one of the best ways to get that look. They come and pick you up at your hotel, take you to the airfield, give you a 12-14 minute spin around the strip and the downtown area of Las Vegas, then take you back home. All that for $65 dollars each, plus you get complimentary champagne on the flight. Not bad if you aren't flying the helicopter tours yourself. Just be sure to take your Dramamine before getting on the chopper.
Key2lasvegas.com has specials on tickets and cheap reservations which periodically come up. You can also hook it up with dinner, or make it a day trip, but night is really the best way to go so you can see Las Vegas in its entire splendor.
There are a total of about a half dozen companies running tours, and you have to decide how much you want to see. Combining sites all over Clark County and Southern Nevada and even into Arizona (like Hoover Dam and the Grand Canyon) will get you more for your money, but it's not exactly cheap. Prices range from $75-$185 a person, depending on how far you go.
