If you are sick of going to Las Vegas and paying big money to stay on the strip, how about enjoying the benefits of a hotel casino with golfing just outside about 70 miles up the highway? Mesquite Golf Packages allow you to discover new and tremendously playable golf experiences away from the strip.
Mesquite has five championship golf courses at different levels, and different price ranges. By far the best course I've played there is Wolf Creek, which is not cheap, running about $140 a round, but is worth it for the views, some amazing tee boxes, and canyon playing. I was invited to their media day, and was flown in from Las Vegas to Mesquite on a sightseeing jet. They don't have a real airport, just a cleared off butte north of town, so it was a little disconcerting, but the golf was tremendous. By car, it's about 70 minutes once you get out of town.
The Casablanca is probably the next best, and is also a great course, hooked up with the Palms, a sister course. The sister hotel, the Casablanca, offers packages outside of Clark County and out to Mesquite. Casablancagolfclub.com has a list of package options.
When you golf in Mesquite, you can also head 45 minutes up the road to St. George, which has cheap golf ($25 rounds) on a number of courses, so the options are varied. If you have a car, making it a day trip from Las Vegas isn't out of the question, while the hotels in Mesquite are just fine to stay in.
