Riviera Las Vegas

In many cities across the United States , 50-year-old buildings aren't a big thing. In fact, in towns like Boston and Philadelphia , if you aren't at least 200 years old, you are nothing. However in Las Vegas , 50 years is some serious staying power. The Riviera Las Vegas recently celebrated its 50 th anniversary on the LV strip, making it older than most of the buildings in Nevada , let alone hotels and casinos.

The Riviera Hotel Las Vegas bills itself as the "Entertainment Center of Las Vegas", and at one point, that was true. It isn't as much anymore, however, as other properties have risen up around it, moving the center closer to Las Vegas Boulevard and Tropicana intersection of Hotels. The Riviera has aged well, though, and is still good value, with most rooms under $100 a night most nights of the year.

The entertainment plays like old Vegas as well. The Riviera Casino Las Vegas has the types of shows more likely connected to the older style of Nevada entertainment, meaning more of the Las Vegas revue-type shows. Splash and Crazy Girls are both in the hotel. While Splash sounds like a water ride, it's actually a variety show, but Crazy Girls lives up to its name: a topless dance and comedy show that was voted the best in Las Vegas . Also included, La Cage , which is a song and dance show with female impersonators led by a guy named Frank playing Joan Rivers.
