Sporting Events Las Vegas

Las Vegas is known for its nightlife, but it has much more than just party places and casino fun. Sporting events Las Vegas style are varied and exciting. If you are headed to Clark County, you will have plenty to choose from; depending what time of the year you come.

Boxing. Las Vegas could be the Boxing capital of the world, and it definitely is of Nevada. With most of the blockbusters in Vegas, as well as tons of local fights, you can always get good cheap tickets for the fights if you are looking for them. For a schedule of boxing cards, click on Lvboxing.com. They also have a link for seat reservations.

Auto Racing. With a Nextel Cup race in town (actually a few miles north) at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway, racing fans get the big time as well as a ton of local races, on a variety of tracks in the facility. Lvms.com is the official website. You can get cheap reservations for rooms and tickets to the big races at Sam's Town hotel, or other casinos as well.

Ice Hockey. The Las Vegas Wranglers play during the winter. They are hooked up with the Orleans Casino, where you can get the best deal on tickets and cheap package rates. Orleanscasino.com gets you there.

Basketball. UNLV is still the king of hoops in Las Vegas, though the rumbling that an NBA team will be coming soon means they may have to share the spotlight. You want a deal on tickets? Go to school there! Actually, the prices for the upper areas are reasonable.

Baseball. The Area 51's baseball team (worst team nickname in sports, in my opinion) is a triple-A team. Plenty of good seats still available at all times.

Golf. Vegas & golf go hand-in-hand like peanut butter & jelly. The Las Vegas Invitational (Tiger Woods' first professional win) is a true sporting event LV loves, taking place at three courses around town, with the TPC Summerlin the home base. If you can get into a hospitality tent, that is the way to go. You'll have to get tight with some Las Vegas bigwig, but it may be worth it.
