However, if you are into the pirate thing, the Treasure Island Hotel may be for you. Part of the MGM Mirage group (which even offers an MGM Mirage Visa to earn hotel points), the T.I. as the Treasure Island is known by locals and the new Treasure Island marketing campaign, is more touristy than other hotels, but isn't a bad place to make your base of operations, thanks to its proximity to shopping, dining, and entertainment everywhere, and not just in the hotel.
The Treasure Island Hotel Las Vegas has been known primarily by visitors as that place that has the free pirate show. Well, that free pirate show is still free at the Treasure Island , but it has been "sexed up" lately. Now called The Sirens of ti , there is still a pirate fight on pirate ships for free, at 6, 8 and 10 every night. Now, however, they are fighting the comely sirens who are trying to seduce them. Still, it's free and part of a night on the strip if you are just wandering.
The real headline show at the Treasure Island Resort Las Vegas is Mystere , Cirque Du Soleil's headline show in Las Vegas , which has won eight Production of the Year awards from the Las Vegas Revue Journal, Las Vegas ' top newspaper. This show is just fantastic. I saw it with my wife and was thoroughly entertained throughout with the dazzling costumes, the dancing, and acrobatics. It's well worth the $60-$95 ticket prices. If you are going, get as close as you can afford. It's totally worth it!

Normal weekend rates run less than $200 a night even in high periods, so it's an affordable spot on the strip. Plus, it's right across the street from the Fashion Show Mall, with all the big stores.
